Coaching Experience
How long have you been coaching? "3 years."
Age groups of teams coached? "Varied from 5-18, but mostly middle-school age kids."
Certifications, association memberships: "ASCA Level 1, (taking Level 2 in October), USA Swimming Coach, IHSAA Swim Official, Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Certified Aquatic Manager."
Significant competitive achievements: "2005 Tuttle Middle School - Girls: undefeated regular season, county champs, conference runner up; Boys: one loss during regular season; county and conference champs. Hope to add SCSC achievements and record soon! As a swimmer at BSU I was on the MAC conference team three years and lettered all four years."
Personal Goals for SCSC:"I would like to increase the size of our team and work towards an increased team spirit and pride."
Strategy for building a team?"I believe a winning team starts with hard work, commitment, and determination, not only from the coaches and swimmers, but from parents and community support as well."

Message to new swimmers and parents:
"Never give up! When you think you can't do it, push a little bit harder and you will find a new found spirit and ability you never thought you had. You can overcome. Skill is easily developed, but the determination and hard work don't come easy. You have to learn how to swim both physically and mentally in order to achieve greatness.

The greatest feeling as a coach is watching someone you have worked with succeed, and seeing them use what you have taught them to become better. The look on a swimmers face when they finally get what you are talking about and why they should listen to what you tell them is priceless!"
